Camino de Santiago
We figured a way to leave the world behind for a month and walk the full Camino from Saint Jean Pied de Port, France to Santiago, Spain. 27 days and 550 miles. Without plans, we navigated through small villages, sampling local Spanish dishes with people from around the world. Our legs were tired, but our spirits were so high that we often walked longer than planned. The Camino is divided into three sections, the body, the mind, and the soul. The most challenging for us was the middle section, the mind. It was the easiest on our body, but hardest mentally . The terrain was flat, similar each day and the villages were not as nice as the beginning and end. We arrived in Santiago on a windy rainy day, elated at our accomplishment and not ready to face the world back home.
