Rhine River and Christmas Markets

The middle section of the Rhine River trail is steeped in history. Our walk started in Bingen, Germany and the trail included the Rhine River trail as well as side paths. Along the way, we explored the old towns and castles that appeared along the Rhine. The area is known for their wine and vineyards fill the hillsides. We ended at the Christmas Markets and celebrated with gluhwein and kartoffelpuffer (crispy potato cakes).
